Rabbi Asher Stern, a highly respected Posek and educator, has been Scholar-in-Residence at many Shuls across the country and has developed a reputation for his delivery style and charisma. Rabbi Stern studied in Yeshiva Sha’ar Hatorah and has smicha from Horav Zelik Epstein, zt”l. He is a dynamic speaker and maggid shiur who inspires audiences with his shiurim and lectures on halachic and aggadic topics. He was awarded the Gruss award for excellence in teaching and presenting at chinuch conferences such as the Torah Umesorah Convention and the Gruss Center for Jewish Education. Rabbi Stern currently serves as the Rav at the prestigious Congregation Bais Avrohom Zev in Lawrence, NY and Regency Estates summer community.


Rabbi Shapiro’s world-wide reputation as a speaker has taken him throughout the United States, Canada, South Africa and, of course, to Israel. His name and reputation, as well as his relationship with G’dolai Yisroel, testify to his Torah dedication & inspirational abilities. As one of the most prolific speakers in the world, Rabbi Shapiro is renowned for his daily shiurim for the Chofetz Chaim Heritage foundation and some of his Torah classes can be found on Torahanytime. Rabbi Shapiro is also heavily involved in speaking on behalf of SHUVU, BMG and a myriad of other worthy organizations.


Rabbi Friedman has been devoted to Jewish education for many decades. He studied in the Mir yeshiva under some of the Gedolei Hador including Rav Chaim Shmuelevitz z”tl and Rav Nachum Partzovitz z”tl. He was previously a maggid shiur at Yeshivat Kerem B’Yavneh before ruturning to Hebrew Theological College Beis HaMidrash LaTorah, where he has held numerous positions throughout the past 25 years Including, High school Rebbe, Bais Midrash Rebbe, Mashgiach Of Bais Medrash and Rosh Kollel, before being appointed Rosh HaYeshiva.

Rabbi Lawrence Hajioff

Originally from London, England, Rabbi Lawrence Hajioff graduated with honors in political science from Manchester University. After working for MTV in news production, and winning the national competition ‘Jewish Stand-Up Comedian’ of the Year, Rabbi Hajioff traveled to study in Israel and then Monsey to receive his rabbinical smicha ordination from Yeshivat Ohr Somayach.

Rabbi Hajioff is the educational director of Birthright Israel Alumni in Manhattan, New York. He has been instrumental in implementing programs for Birthright Israel in Manhattan such as the very successful adult bar and bat mitzvah program which some four hundred people have completed so far. He also leads trips to Israel and Poland three times a year for hundreds of young professionals.

His very popular book Jew Got Questions was published by Feldheim and was a best seller. His follow up Will Jew Marry Me is available online and in stores now.

Rabbi Yaakov Jacknis

For the past ten years, Rabbi Yaakov Jacknis has been the 8th grade Rebbi and program director at Yeshiva Aharon Yaakov Ohr Eliyahu located in Los Angeles, California. He also serves as English Principal at Yeshiva Gedolah of Los Angeles High School.  His charismatic personality, Torah knowledge, innovative programming and huge heart have endeared him to his students and their parents alike. His shiurim for adults are likewise inspirational, informative and inclusive.

During the summer, Rabbi Jacknis continues his leadership activities. For the past 11 summers he has been head counselor of Camp Heller in upstate New York. This summer, Rabbi Jacknis will be in Los Angeles, joining the administration of Camp Yedid.  Rabbi and Mrs Jacknis live in the Hancock Park area with their 6 children.

Rabbi Dr. Ari Korenblit

Rabbi Dr. Ari Korenblit is a highly respected licensed NY psychotherapist in private practice. Among his extensive experience he has worked as a Yeshiva principal, youth director, educational consultant, Radio show host, newspaper editor, graphologist/hand writing analyst, and resort social director.

He has been interviewed on various TV and radio programs, delivered the opening prayer in the US Congress, conducts nation-wide educational contests for yeshiva students, and directed a major Kiruv-Jewish outreach organization.

He is a prolific writer for nuemerous publications and lectures widely on Judaica, Mental Health, Parenting Matters and graphology.

Rabbi Yisrael “Freddie” Friedman, Shadchan/Dating Coach

RABBI YISRAEL “FREDDY” FRIEDMAN is originally from Chicago and now resides in Lakewood, NJ. Yisrael (Freddy) has extensive experience in matchmaking and has acquired a great database of eligible single men and women. His bubbly personality and easy going nature has made him a wonderful asset to the Gateways Connections team and we are excited to have him join the Pesach 2017 NEW SHIDDUCH INITIATIVE with the Smilow Family.

Tammy Schwebel, Shadchan/Dating Coach

Tammy, resides in Monsey, NY with her husband Avi and family. Tammy has been working as a full time shadchan for the past nine years and has bli a’h made many successful shidduchim. She is known as a networker and a person with a listening ear. She sincerely cares for everyone she meets and skillfully works on their behalf. She is great at connecting the right people together. Recently she has become a professional dating coach as well. Her ability to understand and relate to singles, is what makes her the successful shadchan that she has become.
